"Happy" Accident?

In October, I did 3 paintings entitled Spectrumba #1, #2, and #3. I painted three concentric spectrums and then planned to layer over them to add some complexity. After I finished the first layers, I liked them so much I decided to leave well enough alone and exhibit them in the Artists' Collective of Hyde Park's holiday show. Due to a schedule misunderstanding I left them in my car for a week with the surfaces of #1 and #2 facing each other and they adhered to each other. My ham handed attempt to separate them basically ruined them.

After a few choice curses, I returned #1 and #2 to the studio, where I patched them up, employed masking tape judiciously, and applied a second layer of paint. Spectrumba #2 Rebuilt has already sold, but you can see Spectrumba #1 Rebuilt at the Small Works show at the Artists' Collective of Hyde Park which runs through January 15, 2017.
